Busy Senior Infants!

It's been a busy term for Senior Infants learning about Day and Night. The girls wrote about their favourite nocturnal animals and painted day and night pictures including the animals from each.

Number work

The girls do lots of practical activities to understand the value of numbers. Here they are finding out how to combine 2 numbers to make ten. They are using counters and their fingers to find the 'best friends' to make the number 10.

Shadows Puppet Show

Seniors enjoyed making their own shadow puppet show using torches and puppets. This practical science activity enabled the girls to understand how a shadow is formed. We repeated this activity in the playground by blocking the light and experimenting how long we could make our own shadows.

Teddy Bears Picnic

We had some interesting guests come to visit Seniors. The girls all brought in their teddy bears and we had a teddy bear's picnic. The girls made labels, designed outfits and wrote about their favourite teddies. All teddies had a splendid day at school and were well looked after!

Miss O'Donovan's Birthday

Seniors marked Miss O'Donovan's 98th birthday by making her a special book. This book thanked Miss O'Donovan for setting up the school 70 years ago and each girl told her what they liked about their school. We wish Miss O'Donovan a lovely 98th birthday.
