First Holy Communion - 15 May 2022

2nd Class had been practicing and preparing for their First Holy Communion for a long time and during last week they had three rehearsals in St Patrick’s.

The ceremony formed part of 12 o’clock Mass in St Patrick’s church where Fr Eoin Whooley guided the girls through the sacrament with gentle encouragement and great understanding.

The girls were perfect and it was wonderful that their Holy Communion was integrated into a regular Sunday Mass making them very much part of the church community. It was a very special and joyous occasion.

For making it so special our thanks are due to:

our 2nd class teacher Leonora Curtin; our 3rd class teacher Maeve-Ann O’Brien; our music teacher Niamh Quigley; Tim McCoy who filmed the ceremony for us; Deirdre and David from St Patrick’s; our violinists, Chloe and Rebecca Johnston, Jenny McCarthy and Ailish Martin, who came especially to play for us in the church and Aoife Martin who made her First Communion and also played violin.
