Special Library Event 22 November 2022

Cork City Children’s library in Grand Parade have been hosting special visits from our classes for the past year. It is a wonderful facility and the children now know the joys of using our public libraries.

This Tuesday, the library offered 6th Class a special invitation to a storytelling session with Tim Tingle who is from the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma and Maria Gillen, a story teller from Cork.

6th Class enjoyed the visit immensely. Many of us had not known of the close link, forged through dire necessity, between the Choctaw and the Irish nations. This link is commemorated by a beautiful sculpture in Midleton, made in Cork by Alex Pentek and called Kindred Spirits.
